A statement was made yesterday from an excellent authority, this season will wind up Miss Arthur’s theatrical career. She will then enter Boston society, not as Julia Arthur, but as Mrs. Benjamin Pierce Cheney Jr.

The paper reported…there is every reason to believe the story to be true. Mr. Cheney is many times a millionaire. Miss Arthur has little to gain continuing her profession as she has won her way to the upper step of the theatrical stairs. She will have all the comforts wealth can bring to her.

Loving the island life so much, the Cheneys made plans to have new home built.

The turn of the Century proved to be a more tranquil, peaceful time for the Cheneys. With the retirement of Julia’s stage career and their introduction as such…Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Pierce Cheney to the socialites of Boston…life seemed to be what most dreamt of.
